About
I have loved art-making since I was a child. Much to my mother's chagrin, my first drawings were on the walls of my bedroom! As a teenager, my favorite place to spend my time was at the Philadelphia Art Museum. I took art classes in high school, but I did not get formal training in art until mid-life. After getting a master's degree in school counseling, I studied art therapy at Pratt Institute and became a registered art therapist. I worked in schools with children from preschool to high school age, helping them to express themselves and to heal and feel good about themselves through all types of art media. I also had a private practice in art and play therapy, working with children and families until 2010, when my husband and I retired to Florida. Since retiring, I have been learning oil painting techniques from several excellent artists/teachers in the Stuart area.
I am inspired by the beauty in nature and I enjoy painting landscapes, seascapes, birds and animals. I have recently begun painting pictures of my grandchildren at play.
